Jonathan Dustin married first Mary Robie in 1787. They had 11 children. She died in 1805, and he must have remarried soon because in December of that year he had another child by second wife Mary Berry. They had another child and she died in 1811 in Stanstead, Quebec. He then married Charlotte Clark in 1812 in Chester, NH, but he returned to Quebec where he lived the rest of his life. They had 11 children, making 24 kids for Jonathan.
In March of 1810, Johnathan took up a section of land in Candia, NH, the advantages offered by the government of Great Britain, being such as to induce many of the settlers of New Hampshire to try their fortune on less sterile soil. He took with him his three sons, Walter, aged 18; Moses, aged 16; and Johnathan, aged 14. He located on 200 acres, situated in the township of Stanstead, Quebec about 2 miles from the boundary line of Derby, Vermont. He built the first frame house in the region and was occupied by his 19th child, William Sargent Dustin.
